AI 的下一個瓶頸,是電力,也是執行

AI’s next bottleneck is not just chips, but power; execution is also what truly separates the leaders. This week, my team and I advanced two workstreams in parallel. One brings storage, EMS, KiWi AI, financing/subsidy design and actual store operating conditions into a single POC framework across multiple retail locations in Japan; the other is AI-EDC, breaking land, power supply, regulation, anchor customers, engineering and capital into individual execution gates that must be passed. At the meeting table, we were not discussing “drawing another, bigger blueprint,” but very specific questions: Where will the first kWh come from? How will we dispatch during peak hours? How will PPA, storage and VPP work together? Can supply-demand matching every 15 minutes be verified, settled and audited? Who should bear the project’s costs and grid responsibilities? This was also my strongest impression of the industry this week. The latest announced AI/HPC campus plan in the United States puts a 1.8GW computing campus, 2GW of generation and up to 2.6GW of storage into one development framework; the United Kingdom has also begun using commitment fees and milestones to address data centers tying up large amounts of grid capacity. The signal is already very clear: power is no longer merely something to procure after a data center is built. It is AI infrastructure’s first asset, first risk and first execution gate. This does not mean we endorse every energy mix. On the contrary, it is a further reminder that truly responsible AI infrastructure cannot simply shift the pressure of computing demand onto the grid and communities. It must incorporate green power, storage, flexible dispatch and verifiable operating mechanisms together. At KiWi, we do not see AI-EDC as a data center building. We see it as an Energy Operating System: connecting green power and corporate PPA, BESS, AI-EMS, VPP/ADR, precise 15-minute matching and auditable settlement. The real moat is not who announces the most MW, but who can turn complex energy conditions into an operating approach that can be implemented, replicated and trusted by partners. Thank you to the team who stayed online this week checking assumptions, formulas, architecture and site conditions one by one, and to the partners willing to work with us to clarify the problems and define responsibilities. The energy transition is not a slogan; it is a series of details that cannot be skipped. Making every kWh smarter. And making every AI infrastructure project responsible to the grid, communities, customers and investors from day one. #KiWiNewEnergy #AIEDC #GreenPower #EnergyStorage #PPA #VPP #AIEMS #EnergyTransition #24x7CFE
